PGE Foundation knows the best ideas and strongest solutions come from community. This month they officially announced the launch of the new Climate Resilient Communities Fund, shaped alongside more than 20 community partners who shared their time, insight, and lived experience to help guide this work. PGE is deeply grateful for the trust, candor, and collaboration that made this fund possible. This fund will support efforts that help Oregon communities prepare for, adapt to, and recover from climate-related challenges. Areas of focus include:
- Wildfire Hazard & Preparedness: Reducing wildfire hazard, strengthening preparedness and response, and building long-term recovery capacity in fire-prone areas before fire comes.
- Nature-Based Solutions: Habitat restoration, tree canopy, and green infrastructure projects that cool communities, improve air and water quality, and protect ecosystems.
- Parks & Public Spaces: Expanding equitable access to safe, climate-resilient outdoor gathering spaces where people can connect, cool off, and find refuge.
Through this fund, PGE Foundation hopes to help grow community capacity and stewardship for resilience, improve environmental conditions like wildfire preparedness, canopy cover, and green infrastructure, expand access to welcoming and climate-resilient public spaces, and support deeper collaboration and shared learning across communities and sectors.
