Oregon Resilience Stewards: Virtual Meetup

Oregon Resilience Stewards has an opportunity for network members to join their virtual meetup. See the Eventbrite invitation for more information, and to sign up.

The inaugural Oregon Resilience Summit (2024) was a tremendous opportunity to connect with disaster leaders, service providers, survivors and more from local communities and sectors across the state.

Join us for a follow-up virtual meetup to:

  • Learn what actions attendees have taken since the event,
  • Identify work groups forming within the ORS structure and join (or form!) one,
  • Share the most pressing disaster recovery and resilience topics for YOUR organization and community,
  • Help us plan for a 2025 Oregon Resilience Summit, and,
  • See old friends and meet new ones.

Hosted by five partner organizations, last spring we welcomed 171 nonprofits, public agencies, tribes, collaboratives, funders and more over three resource-filled and relationship-fueled days.

Together, we shared insights and experiences relating to over two dozen interconnected topics ranging from community land trusts to federal resources to childcare – and so much more. We also had opportunities to strengthen networks (quite literally exchanging contact information as the start of a statewide phone tree…), shared challenges, and worked through solutions.

Post event surveys were nearly unanimous: you are interested in more meetups, networking, and skill sharing!

At this initial virtual meetup we will have:

  • Presenters and speakers (will this be you? <- request a speaking slot through this form - first come, first...speaking);
  • Status updates on some of the work shared at the Summit;
  • Opportunities to share new initiatives sparked (or not) by the Summit;
  • Guided, live discussion (submit questions - same form as above);
  • Announcements of several Work Groups forming under the Oregon Resilience network and an opportunity to join or be part of forming a new one;
  • A sneak peek at the Oregon Resilience website, which is being transformed to an online clearing house featuring community-based organizations and others across the state who are experts in an array of disaster response, recovery and resiliency services. This site then serves as the matchmaking backbone for funding, technical assistance, gap assessments and much more.

We hope you'll join us on December 9th, 12pm - 4:30pm PST (15 minute breaks throughout; open house style - drop in).

Thank you, as always, for the expertise and experiences you contribute towards a more resilient Oregon!
