AfroVillage PDX continues its tradition of coming together in community, rooted in healing, joy, and our shared commitment to the land. This year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Planet” — a reminder that we all play a role in building a sustainable future that centers care, justice, and restoration.
Here’s what the day will look like:
🧹 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Kickoff Community Clean-Up
🎉 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Celebration with food, music, and community partners like you!
This isn’t just an event — it’s a moment. We’ll be officially launching our AfroFuturism Oasis project on the Larrabee site we’re in the process of acquiring through the City of Portland (PBOT). This space is located in Lower Albina, near the Willamette River, and will become a community sanctuary focused on climate resilience, healing, innovation, and joy — built by and for Black and Indigenous communities.
We’re especially excited this year to highlight climate resilience, green workforce opportunities, and digital justice — all while celebrating the beauty of our community with food, music, and love.
